Frequently asked questions
Here you'll find answers to the questions we're asked most often: shipping, in-store collection, returns, sizing and our shop on Mehringdamm 41.
How long does delivery take?
Within Germany we ship with DHL. Your order usually reaches you within 2 to 4 working days. There are no deliveries on Sundays and public holidays.
How much is shipping?
6,19 € per order within Germany. For orders with a goods value of 50,00 € or more, shipping is free. In-store collection at Mehringdamm 41 is always free. You'll find all the details under Payment and shipping.
Do you ship outside Germany?
At the moment we only ship within Germany.
Can I collect my order in the shop?
Yes, free of charge. Choose collection at checkout and wait for our collection confirmation by email – the order confirmation on its own is not yet a collection confirmation. Bring the confirmation with you and your find will be ready at Mehringdamm 41. How in-store collection works
How do returns work?
Within 14 days of delivery, returns within Germany are free for you. Write to us via our contact ticket and choose “Return” – we'll email you a DHL return label. You can also drop the piece off in our shop during opening hours. Your refund is handled by our online team and goes back the same way you paid. All deadlines and conditions are set out in our withdrawal information.
Can the shop team help with my online order?
That's what our online team is for: orders, shipping, returns and refunds all go through the contact ticket or by email to kontakt@checkpoint-cinema.com. Our colleagues in the shop are there for customers on site and have no access to online orders. Collecting and dropping off still works in the shop – everything else we'll sort out with you online.
Which payment methods can I use?
PayPal and PayPal Express, plus credit and debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna via Shopify Payments.
What condition is the secondhand clothing in?
Every piece is checked and cleaned by us before it goes online. We describe particular features and signs of wear in the product details. If you'd like to know more, send us the item number and we'll take another look for you.
Is a find available more than once?
Secondhand pieces are usually one of a kind: one size, one item. Once it's gone, it's gone. New pieces may come in other sizes – you'll see that on the product page.
How do I know whether something will fit?
The product page shows the size and, where available, further details about the cut. If you need exact measurements, send us the item number and we'll measure it for you.
Can I find the online pieces in the shop?
Our in-store selection is different from our online one. So for a particular online find, please order it with delivery or collection. A visit is still worth it: different pieces are waiting for you there.
Where are you and when are you open?
Mehringdamm 41, 10961 Berlin-Kreuzberg. Monday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm. Take the U6 or U7 to Mehringdamm.
Why is the shop called Checkpoint & Cinema?
Mehringdamm 41 used to be a cinema – that's the “Cinema” in our name. Today our finds take the lead: secondhand, vintage and selected new pieces, as a family business for over 30 years.
